The Ultimate Guide to Managing Your Wedding Photos

You've Collected Hundreds of Photos — Now What?

Congratulations! Your guests uploaded hundreds (maybe thousands) of photos from your wedding. That's amazing. But now you're staring at a gallery packed with duplicates, blurry shots, and hidden gems. How do you make sense of it all?

Step 1: The First Pass — Moderation

Start by going through your gallery's moderation view. This is where you'll approve or reject photos:

  • Approve everything that's in focus and captures a genuine moment
  • Skip duplicates — keep the best version of similar shots
  • Reject blurry, dark, or unflattering photos

  • Don't be too harsh on the first pass. You can always remove photos later, but you can't get them back once deleted.

    Step 2: Create Collections

Organize your approved photos into meaningful collections:

  • Ceremony — The walk down the aisle, vows, ring exchange, first kiss
  • Reception — Speeches, first dance, cake cutting, bouquet toss
  • Preparations — Getting ready shots, behind-the-scenes moments
  • Candids — The spontaneous, unplanned moments that tell the real story
  • Party — Dance floor action, late-night fun, sparkler exits

  • Step 3: Pin Your Favorites

Pin your absolute favorite photos to the top of your gallery. These become the first thing anyone sees when they visit your album — choose shots that represent the spirit of your day.

    Step 4: Download & Backup

Once you're happy with your curation:

  • Download the full gallery as a ZIP file
  • Back up to a cloud storage service (Google Drive, iCloud, etc.)
  • Consider printing your favorites — digital photos are wonderful, but nothing beats a physical album

  • The 80/20 Rule

Here's a secret: about 20% of your photos will capture 80% of the emotion. Focus your energy on finding and highlighting those special shots rather than trying to perfect every single image.

Your guests gave you the gift of their perspective. Honor that by curating a collection that tells the complete story of your day.
